Cate Desjardins, MDiv (Cohort 2)
Cate is licensed for ministry within the Mennonite Church and received her MDiv from Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana.
During her time in seminary, Cate was a Ministry Fellow through the Forum for Theological Exploration. In that program she spent two summers in residency with the Sisters of Grandchamp in Switzerland before pursuing CPE through the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. At Cincinnati Children’s Cate served as Research Fellow where she has had the privilege of working with Dr. Daniel Grossoehme and Dr. Judy Ragsdale on a qualitative project exploring how parents describe their use of faith/spirituality as they make serious medical decisions for their children. Cate’s interests include understanding the long-term pastoral care needs of families who have children with complex disabilities and exploring online family support groups as a research tool to understand how families spiritually cope with their children’s illness. Cate will be pursuing her MPH at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Cate is a foster parent, avid gardener, and classical harpist.
